Transcanada faces one last hurdle - at least for now
TransCanada is back in court, this time to face an injunction from the province on Quebec. Quebec wants TransCanada to provide a more detailed account of its Energy East proposal, claiming the pipeline company wasn't respecting Quebec law. The courts recently rejected similar claims from a coalition of environmental groups who wanted the hearings cancelled due to potential increases in GHG emissions. An initial round of hearings were completed earlier this month. Quebec's environmental review agency is scheduled to begin a second round of public hearings on April 25.
