A 10 hour meeting between OPEC and non-OPEC members resulted in a stalemate, with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations refusing to cap production unless all members agree to cap, including Iran.

Iran did not attend the summit and calls the freeze "ridiculous" since the country has just emerged from global sanctions. Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also noted his country can easily ramp up production to 12.5 million barrels a day, if desired (2 million barrels more than current output), scoffing at suggestions that Saudi production is almost maxed-out.
