Province of BC to formally oppose expansion of Trans Mountain pipeline
The BC government will formally oppose the Trans Mountain expansion in a written submission to the NEB. The rejection is based on failure to provide an adequate spill respond plan. The province of BC is asking Trudeau to reject the project.
The $6.8B expansion would twin the existing 1,150 km line to Burnaby, increasing capacity from 300,000 to 890,000 bpd.
