Ramp-up continues at BlackGold as SAGD facility gets closer to nameplate capacity

Harvest Operations says its BlackGold Oil Sands Project averaged 6,515 bbl/day in the first three months of this year, as it continues to ramp up towards its nameplate capacity of 10,000 bbl/day. By the end of March, 12 out of 15 well pairs were placed into service.

BlackGold is located about 10 km southeast of Conklin, Alberta, using steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology to extract bitumen in-situ. The facility began production in the fall of 2018. The project already has approvals in place for up to 30,000 bbl/day of output.
